Upa Nengkhenthang Samte, is the eldest son of (L) Khamchinzam Samte Bulpi, Founder Chief of Zabellei Village. He was born on the 27th December 1952 at Allusingtam Village. He got his academic schooling at Zabellei, Minzang, Behieng and Singngat Govt. High School. He attended Singngat Govt. High School from Class III to Class X.

Ø He served as Zabellei Mission techer from 1976 – 1980.
Ø He joined as a Teacher under the Education Dept., Govt. Of Manipur on 1st October 1980.
Ø Worked at Zabellei Govt. Aided JB School as Headmaster from 2001.
Ø Completed Senior Basic at Basic Training College, Imphal with 2nd Class in 1990 (1989 – 1990)
Ø In 1965 he got Holy Baptized at Allusingtam Church under the hands of (L) Rev. Vungdal
Ø On August 15, 1979 he married Miss Goihkhanman@mannou daughter of Upa Khuphau Manlun of Behieng under the ministership of (L) Rev. T. Ginzapau.
Ø On 20th February,1993 he got annointed to be a Church Deacon for Zabellei Church at the 39 Zomi Christian Church Assembly held at Simveng, Lamka under the hands of (L) Rev. Doupu, Moderator, ZCC.
Ø On 9th April 1998 he took the Chiefship of Zabellei when his father died.
Ø In December 2001 completed MTC(Ministerial Training Course) from Grace Bible College, New Lamka with 1st Class. He was the class Topper.

Now he was blessed with Two sons and Three daughters, and presently residing in Zabellei Village, Singngat Sub-Division, Churachandpur District, Manipur.
